From Bangkok to Koh Samui

By Air
Fly directly to Samui or fly to Surat Thani and then take mini buses from the airport to Donsak port where ferries take you over to Samui. Ferries take around 2.5-3 hours while speedboats can take you to the island in 45 minutes.

By Bus
Go by bus from southern bus terminal to Surat Thani or Chumphon and take a ferry or speed boat from there.

By Train
Go by train from Bangkok Hua Lamphong railway station. Combination tickets (train+express boat) can be bought at the railway station, the airport or at one of all the travel agencies in Bangkok.

Take the train to Surat Thani. It leaves Bangkok Hua Lumphong (arrives at Surat Thani) at 8.05a.m. (4.45p.m.), 6.30p.m. (6.23a.m.) and 7.30p.m. (7.16a.m.), where the two latter trains have sleeper cars. Get off the train at Surat Thani railway station. From there shuttle buses (included in the ticket price) take you to the Don Sak ferry terminal.

Boat Option 1

A high-speed catamaran takes you to Koh Samui in around 45 minutes. Departure from Koh Samui is at 10.10a.m.

Boat Option 2

The regular ferry leaves at 8.00a.m., 9.00a.m. and 7.00p.m. and takes around 1.5 hours.
