Terms and Conditions - Bus Ticket Booking
 
Definitions

"The company" "We," "Thairoute.com" refer to ThaiRoute.com limited liability company registered in Thailand, which operates the passenger ticketing system in cooperation with Transitbangkok.com.

"The bus service operator", "bus service", "bus operator" refer to a company which operates bus lines and has the right to use the Thairoute ticketing system.

"Passenger" or "you" refer to any person but staff working for the bus operator.

"Baggage" means personal property that you bring along on the trip. Including both registered and not registered baggage.

"Fees", "fare", "fee" refer to the fare and costs related to obtaining a ticket.

"Website" refers to www.thairoute.com and/or sites that are affiliated with Thairoute.com which were established to allow passengers to book seats online.

 
1. Enforcement

1.1 These terms and conditions are applicable to passengers and those in contact with the Company, effective when purchasing tickets from the company. These terms and conditions apply to all travel by bus booked on Thairoute.com. TransitBangkok.com facilitates booking using the thairoute.com service. Transitbangkok.com accepts no liability for bookings made. All bookings constitute an agreement between the passenger the company and bus operators affiliated with Thairoute.com.

1.2 The original terms and conditions were drafted in Thai and are to be found on thairoute.com. Any translated version and shall be regarded as ancillary to the original version of the terms and conditions in case any of discrepancies between the two.

 
2. Tickets and Fares

2.1 The Company does not issue tickets to passengers. The company only sends to you proof of transactions between you and the Company. Schedule, deemed Terms and Conditions and regulation of bus companies (including fees) together constitute the terms and conditions of the contract for services between you and the Company.

2.2 The fare is the cost of the bus service from the originating station to the destination station only. The fare does not include any other services. The service charge and other expenses are related to the service of ticket distribution. The Company is a provider of online ticket sales only. The bus service is the responsibility of the bus service operators selected to distribute their tickets on the website.

2.3 Ticket Transferability: According to the contract of service between you and the Company. It can be done by the company or by the bus service operating company selected by you.

2.4 You must be present during registration and/or get a ticket before boarding the bus. By showing the booking code (Booking ID) and identification (valid government issued passport). Some bus operators may ask you to provide proof of payment or itinerary.

 

3. Seat reservation and payment

3.1 Reservations are made via the company's website, www.thairoute.com. Tickets are to be picked up at ticket booths or at automated ticketing machines (kiosks). Reservations have to be made at least on day ahead of departure. After completing your reservation you will receive a booking code (Booking ID) and must pay through the assigned payment channels. Payment must be fulfilled before midnight at the day of booking. If ticket is not paid within the time limit the reservation will be canceled automatically.

3.2 Payment channels prescribed by the Company include counter service and online payment by credit card (VISA / Master Card).

3.3 When reserving a seat you can also choose your seat. The Company and / or the bus service reserve the right to make changes to any selected seat as deemed necessary.

3.4 A booking will be confirmed after payment is complete. Bookings will only be confirmed if reservation is paid within the time limit. To check your reservation you can log on to the website www.thairoute.com or contact the thai route Call center.

3.5 Making changes to your itinerary

3.5.1 Name changes can be made through the Call Center +66 (0)2 269 6999 (without charge from Thailand).

3.5.2 A change of date must be made before 12.00 pm 2 days prior to the original day of departure for tickets with departure time before 12.00 pm (noon) and 1 day prior to the original day of departure for tickets with departure time after 12.00pm (noon). The fee for changing dates is 80 baht per seat (not including the any fees for payment), the Company reserves the right not to refund the difference in case of changing to a ticket at a lower fare. The passanger must pay the difference in case of changing to a ticket at a higher fare.

3.5.3 In case you make a date change but do not specify your new travel dates immidiately you need to specify the dates within a time period of 90 days from the date of the change. If dates are not specified within this time period the passenger will lose the right to use the ticket. In such case the ticket will expire and the passenger will not be able to recover the fare.

3.5.4 Change of dates can only be made for the same bus operator and the new dates must exist in the booking system. A change of route within the route network of the same bus operated can be made if the provider allows you to do so.

3.5.5 To refund tickets you must give us at least 2 days prior to the original departure for tickets with departure time prior to 12.00 pm (noon) and at least one day prior to the original departure for tickets with departure time later than 12.00 pm (noon).

Customers who have purchased tickets via over the counter service, ATMs or TOT payment service are charged 20% of the ticket price plus a surcharge of 50 baht / time. The remaining amount will be credited to your Thai bank account within 1-3. business days. Refunds to bank accounts can only be credited towards Thai bank accounts.

Customers who have purchased tickets via credit card will receive a refund to their card. A fee of 20% of the ticket price and a surcharge of 50 baht / time will be deducted from the price paid. The remaining amount will be credited to your card within 3-4 weeks. If a customer wishes to transfer money into a bank account the customer will be charged 50% of the ticket price plus a surcharge of 50 baht / time. Refunds to bank accounts can only be credited towards Thai bank accounts. The remaining amount will be credited to your bank account within 1-3 business days.

 

3.5.6 Change dates and return tickets. Only some bus operating companies allow dates to be changed and offer ticket refunds.

3.5.7 You are aware that you have to disclose your personal information to the Company in order to reserve a seat for the trip as well as for any additional services and to confirm the reservation.

 
4. The registration process neccessary in order to confirm your trip

4.1 You must arrive at the bus terminal or at the bus stop at least 30 minutes before departure in order to perform the neccessary steps for registering and confirming the trip (checking-in and / or receiving a ticket). This is done at the registration desk of the bus service operator operating your route. It is your responsibility to be informed about of the schedule and other details regarding your trip that the Company informed you about at the time of making your reservation. The Company reserves the right to deny any passenger the right to travel. If you do not register and confirm travel within the time specified above or can not prove complete and accurate proof of payment or in any other way are not ready to travel we may deny you to travel. The Company shall not be liable for any loss or expenses resulting from your failure to comply with the requirements in this clause. In such cases, booking will be void and can not be refunded.

4.2 If you do not register and confirm your trip at the registration desk at least 30 minutes priod to departure or fail at being informed about the schedule of your journey you will not be able to recover the fare you have paid for your refundable reservation.

 
5. Other
These are the Terms and Conditions for the ticketing system at Thairoute.com. There may be additional terms and conditions for the bus services as part of the Terms and Conditions of any specific bus service operator. If these are not defined in these terms and conditions the additional terms and conditions are still to be regarded as part of these Terms and Conditions. If any of the Terms and Conditions in this document conflict with the terms and conditions of the bus service you choose to use the terms and conditions of that bus service operator will be in force.
